Roger, You did something many others would like to do, but we don’t have the time, courage, or commitment to prioritize this in our busy and hectic lives. Thanks for sharing briefly some of your thoughts, pictures, and experiences that you had on your trip and in planning it. So glad you made it safely out. Few people know what it is like to hike more than 10 miles, let alone 226 miles! Few people know what it is like to hike at night, experience the tremendous elevation changes you experienced, and dealt with the drastic weather changes, hiked in solitude as you did, without a lifeline you could call upon. I’m glad you did this and I hope you can at least write this and get it published in Outdoor Magazine or Backpacking magazine or National Geographic as you have inspired and taught all of us Ventura Star readers a great deal. Cherish this experience always and thanks for sharing what you did. I certainly enjoyed your articles, pictures, and your story on this website.
